Contemplating infinity has been a touchstone for my path from the beginning. I posted some ramblings on it in my previous blog entry titled Trinfinity. This as nothing to do with that blog entry, except to say that I always seem to come back to this in some way or another. Even my devotional practice is informed by contemplation of infinity. It is a rich ground, no doubt an infinite ground of inquiry. Finally, I decided to read up on the subjet to get some broader perspective on the....broadest perspective.
I am only in the first chapter of this book by Rudy Rucker titled "Infinity and the Mind," and I am finding a lot to both confirm my own musings and to provoke them further. Rucker' s intellect is certainly beyond mine, at least when it comes to analysis, but where I can grasp his insights I am finding them to be very valuable for me, and I assume they would be just as valuable for anyone who is awed by the topic and how it might apply to one's world view. I will try to continue adding to this blog with further comments and some snippets from the book as I come across them. I haven't read any of his other books, but I understand they are very good as well. Early into this read and I already am willing to recommend that people check it out.

Still reading this one, but only a little bit at at time. It's a fascinating study. If I had the patience to write an entire book, I might as well have written this one. Each time I turn a page I see something that I want to post here, but as I keep reading I cannot see where to start and stop the posting! Such is the nature of infinity.
